Detroit Arsenal

Home of the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command Headquarters, the Detroit Arsenal  has played a vital role in our Nation’s defense since the start of World War II.  Located in Warren, Mich., the Detroit Arsenal sprang up seemingly overnight in 1940 with the single focus of producing medium tanks.  Today, the Detroit Arsenal remains ever vigilant as the host for organizations that provide over 70 percent of the systems used in the military.



Martin Luther King Jr. -- a symbol of courage

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” The proceeding words by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speak fittingly to not only his own courage in the face of adversity but the tenacity of Soldiers both past and present. As every branch of the Armed Forces steps up in times of challenge and controversy, servicemen and women are symbols of the strength and spirit King spoke about.

2015 marked a year of high recognition for TACOM LCMC teammates, including adapting new technologies, welcoming of a new Command Sergeant Major and chief of staff and a VIP visit to the Detroit Arsenal.


Former TACOMer inducted into AMC Hall of Fame

Former TACOM Acquisition Center Director Henry B. Jones was inducted posthumously into the Army Materiel Command (AMC) Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Oct. 27.  He is one of six inductees selected from among 31 nominees for the 2015 class.  His daughter, Robin Jones, accepted the award on his behalf.

Michigan and TACOM LCMC workers celebrate Labor Day

Labor Day: It’s a day filled with family and barbeques -- an annual signifier of the closing of summer. For many, this holiday serves as a reminder of fall and the end of wearing white, but most importantly, Labor Day is a reminder of American workers' fight for fair wages, fair treatment and the strength of the American workforce.
