Home of the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command Headquarters, the Detroit Arsenal  has played a vital role in our Nation’s defense since the start of World War II.  Located in Warren, Mich., the Detroit Arsenal sprang up seemingly overnight in 1940 with the single focus of producing medium tanks.  Today, the Detroit Arsenal remains ever vigilant as the host for organizations that provide over 70 percent of the systems used in the military.



Michigan and TACOM LCMC workers celebrate Labor Day

Labor Day: It’s a day filled with family and barbeques -- an annual signifier of the closing of summer. For many, this holiday serves as a reminder of fall and the end of wearing white, but most importantly, Labor Day is a reminder of American workers' fight for fair wages, fair treatment and the strength of the American workforce.

TACOM LCMC welcomes new Chief of Staff Col. Gerhard P.R. Schroter

After 27 years of serving his country, leadership roles come naturally to Col. Gerhard P.R. Schröter. Having served in locations as far away as Korea, to taking a number of combat tours through the Middle East, Schröter is ready to call southeastern Michigan home as he takes the reigns as TACOM Life Cycle Management Command's new Chief of Staff.

TACOM LCMC welcomes its 21st Command Sergeant Major

The TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) welcomed its 21st Command Sgt. Maj. (CSM) Jesse L. Sharpe, Jr. at a change of responsibility ceremony held Jan. 12 at the Detroit Arsenal.  Sharpe is replacing outgoing CSM Karl E. Schmitt, who has served with the TACOM LCMC for the past two years and is retiring from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service.

SFC Pollard named TACOM LCMC NCO of the year

Sergeant First Class Jonathan Pollard is known around the Detroit Arsenal for his willingness to help others. Whether he is volunteering in support of TACOM missions, or for charities close to his heart, Pollard is the kind of guy who puts others first. Even recently being named TACOM Life Cycle Management Command Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year, Pollard attributes parts of his success to others.

TACOM teammate wins 2014 Athena Award

With great anticipation, TACOM LCMC teammate Leslie Wilson-Smith listened as the names of the 16 other nominees for the 2014 Athena Leadership Award for Macomb County, Mich. were announced at a luncheon held last month.  When it finally came time to announce the winner and describe her accomplishments, Wilson-Smith, a senior logistics manager in the Competition Management Office at TACOM Headquarters at the Detroit Arsenal, said she realized, “they’re talking about me.”
